I wasn't expecting to be excited about this movie, and I wasn't planning on watching it. I've never been more wrong about it. I'm so happy that I was wrong. My biggest regret is that I didn't see it in IMAX. Joseph Kosinski has crafted a stylish and visually energetic movie that is both grounded and futuristic. The racing sequences are nothing short but pure energy and adrenaline. Every race will leave you on the edge of your seat. That final race is thunderously electrifying. The story and characters are understandable and likeable, as well as sharp.

Brad Pitt is superb, as he proves why he is one of the most influential and recognisable actors in the world. Damson Idris is a star in the making and gives a dynamic performance. Kerry Condon and Javier Bardem have all of the charisma and confidence that they have.

As I said, the script and story are nothing new, but the filmmakers, writers, director, cast, and crew make it fresh and flair. The mixture of visual and practical effects is stupendous, and Hans Zimmer is simply dynamite and well, no other way to put it. It's epic, just like his sports car, the underrated movie 'Rush.'

This is a very predictable and beat-for-numbers movie. You know what's going to happen, and you know who the bad guy is, but it doesn't matter. Because it engages and pulls you into the movie, other than nitpicking, the one complaint I have is that Joshua Pearce's character somewhat fades into the background and doesn't return until the end of the final race. I wish the writers could've found a way to make them both work out a way out of them both in the climax till the end, but that is my only real complaint. Please see it on the IMAX screen; you won't regret it, and neither will you regret seeing this movie in general.
