There were some movies I still need to watch like CODA and The Tragedy of Macbeth. Some wins made me say to myself 'well, I know it" or 'really, that movie or person deserves to win.' Let me start with the actors and actresses who did deserve to win. Ariana DeBose was the biggest win for me. No other actress deserved it more than her. Her performance in West Side Story was truly phenomenal and her voice is simply glorious her acceptance speech moved me to the core. This was a diverse year. To celebrate Black, Latino, deaf stars, LBGTQIA+ and filmmakers and their movies to be celebrated. To finally be seen and heard is heart-warming and progress is finally happening. CODA is on my list to watch because this movie is breaking barriers for the community. The whole show was about love and acceptance for everyone Ariana DeBose is the first Afro-Latino, openly queer, actress, to win. Troy Kotsur is the first actor from the deaf community to win the best actor, this will break barriers for the deaf community.

Jessica Chastain's performance was good for her performance in 'The Eyes of Tammy Faye' but didn't deserve to win a lot of the actresses nominated for a leading role didn't impress me in my opinion. Not to say they were bad, which they won't but nothing great. The exception is Olivia Colman for The Lost Daughter and Penelope Cruz for Parallel Mothers. However, Jessica Chastain's speech was touching and needed attention that needs to be brought forward. I have and always will support the LGBTQIA+. I have nothing but love for them and am thrilled they are finally getting the recognition they deserve and acceptance for them. Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall were great as the host, even though some of their jokes were hits and misses. Except for Amy Schumer who sucks comedy into a void of nothingness. Let's get into the moment that everyone is talking about and that is Will Smith smacking Chris Rock. It caught me by surprise like everyone was. I think he could have handled it differently in a different way. I understand he was defending his wife but he went about it in the wrong way. It was childish, unnecessary, immature and egotistical. Instead of making it about the Williams family, he made it about him. There there was tension but everything got back on track. It's a serious shame because a lot of hard work went into it.
