After thirteen years, making over two billion dollars. The long-awaited sequel proves to fans, moviegoers and audiences. That they just want to escape to the movies and into another world. James Cameron continues to crate and grow Pandora in such extraordinary detail that he sucked me back to a world that is familiar and missed. He also continues to push the envelope of CGI and be a pioneer in it. The visual effects are spellbinding and transcendence. James Cameron wanted to make an environmental and whaling message that involves us all globally and needs to be told.

I like and cared for the Sully family they were all likeable and felt like a real family. Jake was a dumb and generic main character but James Cameron fixed that. James Cameron knows how to write his villains. Over the top and cartoonish but he does know to write them so that you can hate them because they do something horrific acts, so it's even more satisfying when they die. Quaritch and the military in the movie are proof of that. Quaritch does have a little bit more dimension to him, which humanizes him a bit. Stephen Lang chews the scenery but also brings intensity to deliver a fun and memorable villain.

Sam Worthington is good. His character is much better than in the first movie. He has more urgency as a leader, a husband and a father. Zoë Saldana is incredible proving once again what a talented force she is. Sigourney Weaver is unrecognisable as Kiri. She brings warmth, gentleness, kindness and childlike wonder to her character and performance. She's the movie's beating heart. Cliff Curtis and Kate Winslet are fantastic as Tonowari and Ronal, the Metkayina leaders. Whenever they're on-screen together. They just dominated the screen both together and individually. The young cast including Bailey Bass, Britain Dalton, Jack Champion, Jamie Flatters, Filip Geljo, Trinity Bliss and Chloe Coleman all give excellent performances. The Metkayina designs are captivating and intriguing. The architecture of their home is creative. The Aquatic world and its creatures under the ocean are dazzling and purely breathtaking. I felt like I was plunged into an underwater world. Simon Franglen takes over from the great James Horner. Not only does he pay tribute to his version of the music but expands on it as well.

This movie doesn't need to be three hours. There is a subplot with a Tulkun (a whale). It goes nowhere and contributes nothing to the story. Unobtainium was a stupid name, Amrita is dumber. They both are lazy Macguffins that make less sense and rises plot holes. Jack Champion was good at portraying Spider, but his character just appears and then leaves to have a big part in the finale that will lead into the third movie. The movie repeats itself with its musical beats and scenes from the first movie, which screeches to a halt. In the film industry, there are many different types of film ratios. For example, in the previous, the ratio was 24fps. This movie is 48 frames per second. It looks very waxy and the characters move awkwardly.

Quite a bit of dialogue is bad, on the point of being a Saturday morning from the 2000s. In conclusion, this is a perfect escape and if you love the first movie then you will this movie. Experience it in all its glory. It's not a soliloquy, no matter how hard it tries to come across like it is.
