This movie was a treat to see in IMAX and proves that theatres exist to pull audiences into a whole new world. I liked Dune: Part 1. It was a good set-up and introduction to Frank Herbert's world. But it lacked character development, any sense of personality, and a sense of urgency; it was just about getting from A to B. It's the complete opposite here. I understood all the characters' motivations, and they felt so fleshed out.

Denis Villeneuve expands upon this world with visual and verbal storytelling, his sheer passion and determination for cinema and the source material. When it came to the action sequences are intense and perfectly laid out set pieces. The climax battle is on a grand scale that matches The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Helm's Deep sequence. The worm ride sequence is an absolute something to behold and an earthshaking scene. Hans Zimmer has another masterpiece of music under his belt. Like the story, the music grows and expands its unique, distinct, rhythmic and ethereal music.

Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya display how insanely talented they are on the screen. Everything from their body and facial expressions speaks volumes on what their feeling then saying it. The ensemble cast is key. Each actor and character has an important role in this movie and later on. Rebecca Ferguson, Florence Pugh, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem and Austin Butler. The villains are more vicious and diabolical. Dave Bautista, Austin Butler, and Stellan Skarsgård are superb at portraying these characters.

I love Christopher Walken as much as the cine-nerd. He was miscast as The Emperor. It felt more like a walk-on role and an impression of Christopher Walken. I know he will play more of a role in Dune: Messiah, but right now, it feels unfulfilled for both Christopher Walken and The Emperor. At times the dialogue can be very on the nose with its exposition and it drones on for a bit. I was left in awe at the end of the movie and ready for the story to continue in Dune: Messiah will be exciting, and the conclusion to this story will be gripping and stunning. Dune: Part 2 is among one of the greatest sequels ever made, as well as one of the greatest movies of all time.
